Treatment reimbursed by the NHS?
Under European Union law, UK patients have the right to opt for treatment in another EU state. This treatment may be funded by the NHS, provided that the treatment overseas is no more expensive than the NHS cost. If you are an NHS patient and you want the NHS to pay for your treatment in another EU state, you must contact your local Primary Care Trust and request funding for your treatment. This should be done prior to travel.
